Values guiding the work
-
I focus on clients' inherent resilience and their existing strengths and skills and include them in the treatment process and goals.
-
I approach every client with unconditional positive regard while tailoring and personalizing the therapeutic methods to meet the unique needs, goals, and preferences of each individual.
-
I have a thorough understanding of and training in trauma-informed care, honoring the pervasive impacts that big ‘T’ traumas and little ‘t’ traumas can have on the way individuals show up with themselves, others, and the world around them on a daily basis.
-
I honor that emotions, traumas, memories, and attachments are stored in the body and so I encourage awareness, curiosity, sensing, and resourcing to the body alongside verbal processing in sessions to promote overall body/mind integration and wellness.
-
I address all aspects of mental, medical/physical, emotional, and social health in the therapeutic process to promote overall well-being, while getting to the root of one’s concerns and problems to treat the whole person rather than putting band-aid fixes on the symptoms.
-
I encourage self-advocacy and empower clients with control, agency, and choice in their mental health journey to build resilience.
-
I maintain the highest ethical and legal standards in all interactions and treatments.
-
I celebrate and support all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. This practice offers affirming care that prioritizes your unique experiences and needs.
-
I honor and affirm the lived experiences of BIPOC individuals and families, providing culturally sensitive care to help navigate challenges and celebrate strengths.
-
I honor and advocate for the differently-abled and neurodivergent communities’ right to accessible and adaptable healthcare.
-
I compassionately approach harmful behaviors or patterns with curiosity over judgment.
